Video - Art Projects - IX V 9 (Dharana)

This is the video as projected at "noise=noise #18" at Area 10, Peckham on 25th April 2010 with new audio recorded at Bill's Studio on 2nd May 2010.

As much as possible, I've replicated the sound as it was at the performance: there's no multi-tracking, etc - just a straight stereo "live" recording.

This was actually a really fun video to make. First of all I did a bit of digital processing of an old video of my eyes that I've had laying around waiting for it to become useful at some point or other. Then I burned this to a DVD and looped it on the TV. Whilst I was "filming" this off the TV screen I also projected a slide of "Alice" my plaster replica skull which is now awfully damaged onto the screen to achieve quite an interesting superimposition effect and did a bit of "hand dancing" in front of the projection and over the TV picture.
You might notice how grimy my fingernails are - I went with this rather than washing my hands and doing another take - I felt it added a sense of earthiness to it or even a hint of "just dug myself out of the grave".

The music is a microKORG / Wavestation duet in my best dark ambient style.
