Edge Effect Commercial Services is my small business; set up in 1996 (under the name Apollo Developments until mid 2002, and as Andy Preston Consultancy until April 2006); providing web design & maintenance, and digital media services.

I follow the advice of the 14th century English philosopher, William of Occam: "It is vain to do with more what can be done with less"*. Whilst I understand that for certain applications the very latest technologies are required, at the same time I have no desire to force these largely untried technologies onto customers who have no real need for them.

I always try to find the simplest and most effective solution to get the job done.
