Bobby
The Bear Behind The Music

My musical career began a long time ago, over 30 years ago now, when I used to live in a rural environment. A group of us got together and formed the imaginatively named "Bobby's Band". It wasn't much just a small group of bears and dolls doing cover versions, mostly of the "The Shadows" and "The Tornado's" I can tell you we used to do a mean version of "Telstar". At this point I was playing Lego Guitar, accompanied by Ginger on Lego Bass, Sheena on Lego Keyboards and Humpty on Lego Drums. My stardom soon spread and I was popular enough to elicit calls for a nude photo-shoot. Ah yes, wonderful days when all musical needs could be met with a small record player and a tin full of Lego, and all ego needs could be met with a tin full of 'usic!

After the family moved to Swindon my musical career went a bit quiet, as I was relegated to role of chief listener, with very little active participation in everyday life. This did however give me ample opportunity to ponder my own future musical direction, perfect cover versions is one thing, but the chance to create something unique, now that is a whole new experience. The plethora of rubbish, of so many different genres, that Sarah exposed me to, gave me a wealth of material to work from, and ideas started to form inside my head.

Access to my first PC was a revelation and, with my reforged telepathic link with Sarah, gave me a chance to play with some of the ideas I had been dreaming of. This new fangled computer software stuff provided me with an enormous range of new sounds, and often these sounds were the inspiration for the piece I then created. It was marvellous, a second wind.

I have been resting on my laurels a little recently, and have not produced anything for a couple of years now. Mostly due to laziness on the part of Sarah (if she doesn't turn her computer on, how can I make my music?) and a rather painful writers block that appeared. It became more and more difficult to stop myself slipping into someone-elses (or even my own) tune. So... I am waiting for a new inspiration, or a lot of fan-mail to encourage my next musical foray.

Well, enough of this, now on to the music...
